Nikkor AF-S DX 10-24mm f/3.5-4.5G ED
The Nikkor AF-S DX 10-24mm F/3.5-4.5G ED is a wide angled zoom meant for the digital SLR cameras of the DX format.
Nikon, for the first time in 2003 offered a DX wide angle lens. Gradually it added to its kitty is the Nikkor AF-S DX 12-24/4 G, a very high quality but slightly expensive wide angle lens. However, with the launch of the Nikkor AF-S DX 10-24mm F/3.5-4.5G ED in 2009, Nikon broke even and reached out to a lot of customers who found it to be very useful and affordable. Priced at €750/$800, it isn’t really cheap, but compared to the F-S DX 12-24/4 G, the price is more reliable.
Good quality plastic has been used to create the body of the device and this makes it hardy and attractive. There are two rings – one for focus and the other for zoom and both work rather smoothly, without any trouble or wastage of time
Since the lens sports the silent wave feature, it becomes compatible with every single digital SLR from the house of Nikon, including the auto focus lacking entry-level models. The auto focus function of the Nikkor AF-S DX 10-24mm F/3.5-4.5G ED is very quick and quiet and thus makes it a pleasure to work with. And since it is a lens in the G category, the auto focus comes without the aperture ring
The lens marginally elongates while zooming. When at its shortest, it measures roughly 14mm and at its longest it stands at 24mm. the focal length is10mm.
*CC by evocateur
The tube in which the lens moves while zooming is fairly tough and so there is no kind of shaking or trembling at all. The lens in the front does not turn on so you can easily use a polarizer as and when needed
However, some distortion is noticed since the length of focus (which is 10 mm) is rather large. It stands at about 3.1%, which is definitely more than that of the other cameras in the range. But you need not worry, since the lens manages the distortions very well. This is possible since the length of focus is so long. Barrel to pincushion distortion ranges between 14 to 18mm.
Mostly all lenses that have a minimized circle created exclusively for APS-C DSLRs, generally portray some vignetting. This, however, does not happen with the Nikkor AF-S DX 10-24mm F/3.5-4.5G ED, even though there is a 0.75 lag penalty. This gives the lens an edge over the others and users find it easy to work with.
The Nikkor AF-S DX 10-24mm F/3.5-4.5G ED is a very good product and fits well among the ultra-wide zoom lenses. The design is fresh and the body is built with good quality products. The auto focus is fast and quiet. You can click high resolution images after focusing very accurately at the object. It has standard levels of vignetting and CAs.
The barrel distortion can at times be a bit too much and this becomes an annoying problem. Often the corners display extreme distortion. This makes one believe that the wide zoom range is a bit forced and unnatural.
The lens, overall, is a great product from the house of Nikon. It is perfectly suited for entry-level digital SLRs and amateur photographers. At 460g and 83 mm (diameter) x 87 mm (length), the model is not very heavy or bulky and can be carried about easily. On the whole the lens helps in taking some very good quality photographs in high resolution. However, the qualities of the images also depend on the skill of the photographer.

Tips for Using CPL Filter
Many amateur photographers are skeptical that the C-PL filters are intended to do. Why is the time to buy or UV Protector filters are sold at the same time we are asked to buy a drink at Seven cashier then asked whether it would be more like dumplings, buns. Best time to buy a camera, but if the filter is that it's a C-PL filter, it may be inexperienced photographers stood stunned for a while but it's what it is. What is it? Use it! Also, do not buy it back for more information before! So I volunteered to relieve the reader's doubt bright conquered it.
It's called a dress that is short Circular Polarizing Filter C-PL main function of it is.
- Such a glare of light reflected off the surface. And material with metal or glass surface (a little).- To make the sky darker.- A saturation (Color Saturation).- Cut the glare from the glass. To see more clearly what is in the glass.
It is not that the filters of this kind will be a clear direction. The darker the color of the sky is everywhere here. Must know how to use it with. Okay, I'll suggest a simple technique. The filters used in the C-PL.
I have to rotate the CPL bit is supposed to rotate one way. Is rotated clockwise in Pacifica at the camera as usual. This is to protect it from the C-PL Lens. The rotating counterclockwise will loosen up and fall from CPL spiral.
If I do that then I can assure you that. Dark skies will certainly satisfy you, and the time to shop for a camera at someone asked us not falter to stand it anymore ^ _ ^.

How to keep your camera and lens.
How to keep your camera and lens.
When we put the camera in places such as waterfalls, sea, forest or not taken by the sea. When I travel trips. Should the rubber bellows. Dust blown away by the camera. Then wipe clean. By wiping with a damp cloth. Wipe the corners and the rubber grip on the handle and with To clear the salt from my sweat you out there. The salinity of sweat is the main cause for the swelling of the rubber itself.
Bring your camera and lens from the sun. The cameras are used. Press a shock. Once a month is better ... not only preserves your camera in the store for months. To sunlight, moisture inside the camera and lens to evaporation are gone. But do not leave it in the sun to me. The tires will wear out in a dry box at random.
Where the camera is better?
Be careful to keep the camera that I did not know that many people. Avoid storing the camera in the closet, refrigerator, pantry, tucked under the under the stairs or storage, for example, as in the closet with very high humidity, if the camera is to put just mold the lens though and mold the lens must be submitted. Steam clean only. I have the code to coating on the lens surface with destruction.
Moisture can buy a box for the camera.
The cover should be sealed. There are air and moisture from penetrating the tire. I vacuum my box. Purchased by a Super Target as they are super lock box to choose a quality brand. When the box is saved. Also, do not be complacent. Factors in the ceiling - there's also keep in mind that at least 15 days to open the box. I moved swivel zoom lens brings all the focus shifted to the aperture control lever several times to move or put the camera on a pig is a dog is better whatever it 4-5.
Bubble or a cushioning pad.
To put on the box. Camera to track the cheap price
A silica gel desiccant is placed in a box with moisture.
Buy online. Available in two colors: white and blue, white if the desiccant becomes saturated and blue. The blue adsorption time until saturation becomes pink.
I recommend choosing a color. The desiccant is saturated. We have noticed more easily. I bought a 1kg weight of it (£ 190) and then to the small size zipper bag. For ease of use. The needle is used to punch holes in the bag, zip it. Not recommended to put a desiccant bag in the box because it does not help anything.
The measurement equipment.
Available online camera store. If it's digital, it will be more expensive later. To view the humidity inside the box. And be careful not to put a lot drier than I would have rubber frame. Or at least to absorb moisture, it will have failed to work. Optimum moisture content is approximately 40-50% RH.
How these may seem trivial, but they should be trained to keep this camera as a character at all times. The camera is one thousand thousand price. Should care for me. If it's a lot better when you have to pay thousands for a management deal for me.
